This is especially necessary for a high-flying team because other teams like to throw the body around on Washington a bit more. Risk/Reward doesn’t even up.

His name was Brian Pothier, and he now plays elsewhere. We don’t want to sign another one.

And true, while the 6/7 Dmen are Sloan and Erskine at the moment, they can swap off so that neither one has to play the full season, and either one of them can handle the minutes the 3rd defensive pairing takes. It’s low minutes. Playing either of them is not the end of the world.

I’m not going to be quick to spend the cap space we have. I’d like to see how things pan out before spending money to try and fill a space we might not need filled.

After all, we have training camp coming up… who’s to say we don’t have a blueliner in Hershey who has been quietly working his ass off over the summer?

Let’s see what we HAVE before we start trying to fill in the blanks we don’t know about yet.

He would also bring a veteran presence, and possibly one who could help Alzner develop. I would say he is definitely worth the risk.
