A cheerfully demented Washington Capitals site with a healthy fixation on Alex Ovechkin and his Russian bros. CRASH THE NET!

Watching this game was like seeing old friends return after a long absence. What a difference a bag skate day makes. Coach BB must have challenged his players to play Capitals hockey again, to put out their best effort for a full 60 minutes.

The key to the game was the stars played like stars. Kudos to Varly, he was sensational. More kudos to Backie for 2 masterful goals. A big round of applause to Brooksie for scoring the go ahead and eventual GWG after the 'Canes mounted a mini comeback to tie the score. Matt Bradley earned the hockey equivalent of the Purple Heart for spilling his blood on behalf of his team.

And BTW, who was that guy playing RW? I could have sworn he wore #8 and had a C on his jersey...

Oh wait, it was Ovie! He looked like a new man, as in his old self, a most welcome sight. His monster hit on Chad LaRue and shots on goal sent the message: I'm back! His three assists on all the Caps goals was a very nice points haul for the night. It was quite a homecoming for our Caps Captain. Welcome back, Ovie, and stay a while. A long while. You're just getting warmed up.

Matt Bradley should get an A every night and I wouldn't be opposed to him getting the C either. He skates hard and plays hard night after night.
