Corey and Katie are both reporting that the Capitals have the flu. Who’s under the weather? Backstrom, Semin, Laich, Carlson, Gordon, and possibly Green.
Maybe Pinizzotto and Andrew Gordon can carpool together on their way down.
UPDATE 1PM: The good folks in the Capitals organization confirm that five players missed practice, and players are told to stay away if they’re feeling ill as a precaution.
The Bears are in Charlotte right now to play the Checkers tonight and Sunday. Pinner was suspended today, though that shouldn’t impact a call up.
Charlotte’s elevation is ~870 feet above sea level, which is higher than D.C. Even if they’re not driving south, I stand by the “way down” language so long as you interpret “down” as meaning “closer to the core of the Earth”.
Inmer was never suspened just remored and is andrew actully getting recalled
No word on call ups yet. You’ll be the first to know though. We’ll have Andrew text you when it happens.
Silly posts like this is the reason why I love you guys so much. :]
ALWAYS MOAR COWBELL.
@Peter, I didn’t realize it was by elevation. My mistake 🙂
@Allie, Pinner was suspended this morning: http://theahl.com/bears-pinizzotto-suspended-p168053
That prescription sheet is killing me, in a good way. Just wanted to say so.
Good stuff, Pedro. You’ve kept me in good spirits about this recent…how you say…mess…over the past 14ish hours. Keep it up until our boys recover from illness and all the not winning.
@Peter Hassett: thanks so much for the humor to help move the dark clouds of doom and gloom away. My own personal prescription for remaining positive in the wake of yet another Caps disappointing game has been refilled.
BTW Peter, in case you missed it, I asked a question for you and/or IRockTheRed on the previous Unleash the Futility thread. Please answer because my curiosity is getting the better of me.

Sounds like flu is going around – my kid woke up with it at 2:30 am. (Why is it always in the middle of the night?) I don’t think he’s been hanging around the guys though.
Wow, our top 2 lines are at 50%
this will get us out of our losing streak for sure!
I had heard that Kashirsky was called up for Hershey so I wondered what was going on with their forwards, aside from Perreault’s call up, of course.
Fahey has been called up. No forwards yet.
Can’t believe no one has mentioned my using Comic Sans yet.
We may yet hear of forwards being called up. Surprised all the lady fans haven’t offered to supply Brooksie with chicken soup yet.
Bruce (and various fans) had said that Semin and Backstrom looked terrible yesterday. As in very listless. Guess they were coming down with the flu.
Get well, guys!
hope there’s some lingering germs in the area when the pens get here next week on the 23rd. let’s have a little fun with our contagions! lick their toothbrushes. breathe on all the doorknobs. rub some yuck in the gatorade bottles. wheee!
@Peter Its Pinizzotto, not Pinizotto. Just sayin.
