This is Sasha’s decision he keeps for himself, and I like that. I’m glad he says he does not like to leave DC. I don’t like it when people talk smack about Semin. I strongly believe in Sasha and the Capitals organization. They get along with Semin very well. I don’t care what everyone says, I think semin should stay for at least 5 years or so or maybe during Ovechkin’s tenure, if they can work things out every season.

@crysbysucks — your “name” is a loud, glaring giveaway without my even reading your comment, but unfortunately I did read it. If you want credibililty, get rid of the derogatory name, but most of all don’t exaggerate and get your facts right. It’s rather hard to be a “No show in the playoffs EVERY year” when Semin has 24 points in 28 NHL playoff games (8 G & 16 A). He was strong against the Rangers and the Flyers, but played injured against the Pens. We all know about last spring. It was not for lack of trying and in the end it was a total team failure.

I think some of the standoffish tone is because it’s translated, so it sounds stiff and formal. He is not very media friendly, for sure, but I think the translation just adds to that perception. He has so much raw talent. I hope they find a way to keep him and I hope he finds a way to be more consistent and to come up big in the playoffs.

No show in the playoffs EVERY year, trade him for Brad Richards or for a stalwart defenseman. GOOD 2nd line center > Semin. GOOD stalwart defenseman > Semin

It all comes down to the playoffs. Who gives a shit about the regular season and his ability there.

I just wish he didn’t have Alexei Yashin’s agent.

There is no way that the Caps should sign Semin to a long term deal until after the playoffs.

Semin remains a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma sitting in the box with an offensive zone stick infraction.

What did you mean ‘ his’ slump , Em ? All team fell in deep functional pit .
3 -4 players in their best form cannot drag all for a long time .
He’s really trying to play better .
