Almost better than the "W" was getting to listen to the Versus in-game commentators who had essentially called the game for the Flyers late in the 3rd end up having to eat crow the remainder of the broadcast.

Seriously, I think there were multiple tents being pitched in that press box - the fawning over the Flyers was near ceaseless - and listening to that guy raise his voice in anticipation every-single-time a pass or Flyer approached the Caps net was beyond annoying.

In addition, I recommend to see again replay before shootout when camera caught Busher trying to drink from the cup at the bench. Never saw such tremors in hands. To me he lost even before shootout started.

As usual good funny recap of the game. I also always prefer steady reactive Varly in PO, time to time Neuvy makes people and probably defensmen very nervous. Wideman should clean his risky puck handling, otherwise he will remain a minus guy and we out.

The recap left out Danny Briere's third-period goal. It was Briere, not Nodl, who put the Flyers ahead 4-3. Nodl's goal tied the score at 3.

I like Ovi's leadership and his role as "captain" on a team. He's the most visible person on the ice, and it wouldn't have mattered if he didn't have the C on his sweater; he'd still eclipse whoever did. Him being captain was inevitable.

We already have deputies; that's what the A on the sweater means. I like the way Ovi captains, and it's not to say that it can't be better, but it's also not to say that Arnott would make the best captain for the Caps. It's not to say that you can't share leadership, because obviously there are several leadership roles that play to each person's strength.

There were about 10 lucky breaks last night and the Capitals got one or two more than the Flyers. If Backstrom's shot gets through Bobrovski and hits the post, the Capitals would have lost that game 7-3 (Bobrovski wasn't on his game at all).

Did #4 even play the second half of the game? I LOVE that he was giving some shots out in front of the net. When the game starts getting physical, that's when you need more JohnE. They were getting pushed around and it was only a matter of time before the ice started tilting. I wonder how different the game would have been with Ovie and Arnott in the lineup (Pronger too for that matter).

Marco Sturm's TOI was 14+ min. I can think of one time I noticed he was on the ice. The rest of the time, he was invisible to me. Matt Bradley played less, but it seemed to me like he played most of the game.

Was that Brian Engblom between the benches last night or a Trappist Monk?
