Oh come on! Nobody tried thier best to “awake the team” by getting injured in the third…. We’ve already clinched. Ottawa already clinched a spot on the golf course. I really don’t think Bruce told them to go out there and fight real hard and win one for the gipper at any cost. Home ice advantage isn’t worth all that. Our boys play now just for the sake of practice..

What do I think of the call? I think it sucks. As did the decision about the first goal. As did the non-call of goalie interference (though my standard is now Knuble’s “breeze of interference” in last year’s game 7 vs. Montreal). As did the high-sticking non-call that gave Hendricks a bloody eyelid. My thesaurus is inadequate to the task of describing tonight’s officiating.

That was a terrible call. It was a clean check, with nothing even resembling a penalty. Caps should have had a PP after that.
