I’d much rather see Ovie in shorts sweating and working out in a gym or running miles to improve his stamina and conditioning, and not in a Speedo carousing and partying on a yacht with “models” or whatever those party types are supposed to be. All play and no work makes Ovie a very badly conditioned boy. It’s time he manned up and learned this, and modified his vacation plans accordingly. Discipline, maturity, and reorganizing his priorities should be at the top of his to-do list.

He had always done commercials and crazy stuffs so I don’t think that affected his game. It was the last summer lack of training that affected his game.

Anyways, I hope he trains a lot and becomes greater than ever! yay!XD

Defence was absolutely awful and there was no good C for Ovi as well.

There are a lot of excuses actually, but i don’t think a star like Ovi needs to rely on any of them.
Ovi needs to work a lot in the postseason…

Ov never should have gone to this tournament. I’m glad to see Russia lost and that Ov was as much a bust there as he was for the Caps all year. For the past 15/16 months, he’s been a fraction of the player he was in his first years. He’s not worked, he’s been lazy, he played an alarming FLOAT-vechkin game when he’d come back on D. And nobody associated with the Caps called him on any of it. Everybody just sorta looked the other way and said things like “that’s our Ov” when he made commercials, biked about Georgetown, and continually muffed chances to help his team at key, critical moments. I’m thrilled he did so poorly in the Worlds. It would have been sickening to see him so soon after his season here to be celebrating there. I hear Ov saying “I want to keep growing up like a player, like a person too”… and, it’s time we start seeing it. A solid first step would have been to skip this tournament, which, in the end, his on-ice performance pretty much did.

Ovechkin said he wanted to win the Stanley Cup, that was and always will be his goal. Lets hope we get one this coming season and for years to come !!
