Guys like Francois Bouchard had skating and skill, but didn’t translate it to the pros well. I think player needs to be physically ready or he’ll never get to the point where he can show his skills off.

Defensive ability can be taught (who thought 15 years ago that a skilled Russian forward named Datsyuk would win multiple Selkes?) and doesn’t always show early. If he can’t play defense…well, play him like Evgeni Malkin, in Charmin Ultra-soft minutes.

I like the last guy the best. In this NHL, if I were in a scouting staff, skating and skill would be my priorities (skating and size got Chimera into the NHL, right?).

Gus played in the jr levelof the sel where prospects from generally get far in the nhl. also Namestnikovs father was a journeyman who didn’t play much in the nhl as opposed to Gustofson whose father was one of the caps top scorers. Dale hunter has been a good eye for talent if you look in the nhl today for former Knights. his biggest knock is his strength which can be worked on easier than troubles with consistency which Jensen, Jurco have as negatives.

he says he is a two way player and has no khl contract unlike Kuznetov who may come after next year and who knows how he will doin the smaller rink

I don’tthink it matters – Caps have drafted Patrick Wey – Pittsburgh-born Pens fan – in the past. I don’t believe they’ll take Brandon Saad though, who’s also from Pitt and cheers for the Pens.
