I’ve been posting this for months….and now it has come
true.  Yay!

“Carthage
must be destroyed”) or the fuller “Ceterum censeo
Carthaginem esse delendam” or also “Ceterum
autem censeo, Carthaginem esse delendam” (English:
“Furthermore, I think Carthage must be destroyed”) are Latin political phrases which were popular in
the Roman
Republic during the latter years of the Punic Wars
against Carthage.
The city was indeed finally razed by the Romans after the Battle of Carthage in 146 BC, and
its entire remaining population sold into slavery…

“…Although no ancient source gives the phrase exactly as it
is usually quoted in modern times (either Carthago delenda est
or the fuller Ceterum censeo Carthaginem esse delendam),
according to several ancient sources the Roman statesman Cato
the Elder would always end his speeches with some variation of this
expression even if he had not been discussing Carthage in the speech…”

 So
basically what historians are telling us is that Rome destroyed Carthage
not because they feared or hated the Carthaginians, but
because they were so tired of Cato ending every @#%&%# speech
 with this statement that they were
pretty much ready to do anything just to get him to S*T*F*U.

So maybe this is what happened here.  The irony is that many of the people who have
bloviated about how the Caps lack grit, work ethic heart and character, are now
saying that GMGM “overpaid” to a player who has these attributes in spades!  I swear, if we won the Cup some people would
complain about the parade route. 

Forget about “Stay Angry”; this year’s team t-shirt should
say:

“ Deserve to WIN”
