I'll never forget that day. Long after we had been watching the Towers in middle school, and the principals were running around demanding teachers not watch...I came into 4rth period english class to have the teacher ask if anyone has a parent working at the Pentagon. I was the only one. Later I would learn if the plane came in 18 degrees less it would the part of the Pentagon my father worked in.

At that time we had Caps season tickets and as the season started, like in previous ones, we'd take the subway from the Pentagon. I'll always remember walking past the sectioned off areas before entering the metro on my way to a Caps game where they had a memorial before the game.

I remember 9/11 as a student at Myersville Elementary (near Middletown) and hearing about Fort Detrick being a possible target for future attacks. Surprised to hear an account from someone who lived in the area.
