Video: Evgeny Kuznetsov’s First KHL Goal of the Season

Wednesday, Traktor Chelyabinsk played their second game of the regular season, taking on Barys Astana in front of 4,900 people at Kazakhstan Sports Palace. Evgeny Kuznetsov followed up his clutch performance Monday by scoring his first KHL goal of the 2011-12 season on an unchallenged breakaway in the first period. Video of the goal is above.

Traktor went on to lose 4-3, despite Kuznetsov firing a game-high six shots on net. The right-wing once again got soft minutes, 14:54 TOI- eighth amongst all Traktor forwards, as he tries to get back in game-shape following off-season shoulder surgery.

Meanwhile,’s Alexey Mikushin dug up Traktor’s internal discipline chart which was created to curtail bad behavior on and off the ice with team-levied fines. This memo was sent out to all of Traktor’s players before the season. RMNB’s Fedor Fedin believes that most KHL teams employ similar team rules such as these.

Traktor’s Disciplinary Fines for 2011-12 Season

  • Taking an unnecessary penalty which influences the outcome of a game – 75k Rubles ($2,5k)

  • Missing training session without good reason – 100k Rubles ($3,33k)
  • Being caught drinking (team’s doctor examines the player) – 100k Rubles for first violation
  • Being caught drinking for a second time – penalty to be determined by coaches which includes the possibility of being released.
