A cheerfully demented Washington Capitals site with a healthy fixation on Alex Ovechkin and his Russian bros. CRASH THE NET!

OH Wow the nostalgia is so thick right now I can hardly breath. I am now 55 yearss old live in Denver Colorado and you just brought me back to my youth. My parents also took me to Clipper Games also, dropping us off at the Civic Center and picking us up after the game. Try doing that with a 12 year old in Baltimore. We also bought the cheap seats and moved down to the good ones. We did it so much in fact that the ticket taker behind the opposing teams bench would look for open seats and let us sit in the section after the first period. I also remember sometimes the games in the hallways playing kick hockey with a handmade puck made out of a soda cup sometimes was more compelling then the real hockey games. I must say that my friend and I were very good at that game and were chased out of alof intense games by the security guards. I also was part of the Baltimore Boys Hockey program and it was always a special night when we got to play one of our games on the civic center ice before a home game. My favorite player was Sandy Mc Gregor and Willie Marshall. And who didn't love Andy Brown.

Yes thank you for the memeories. Since then I got spoiled with the great run the Avalanche had in the NHL with Foresburg, Roy and Sacik. But their will never be another place like the Civic Center.
