Thanks Alex. My mistake... it was definitely not from the neutral zone but I think you would have to say it was almost as fluky as the other three

I am a huge fan. I love the Caps. However I am disappointed with the defensive play, and I'm scared to type this : Ovechkin's dedication to team play. He leads not by example, but rather from a different perspective I can't put my finger on. The Caps need team commitment first, star power second. That's #32's way. Defensive dedication would most certainly have prevented two of three longshot goals and maybe even DB's. We need more Canadiana, less Hollywood.

Those were some flukey goals. I don't think any of the goalies had a chance on them.

However, there has been a distinct pattern of relying on the goalie to pick up the slack and cover for shabby defense. If the backchecking and neutral zones had been covered properly and the players been in proper position, my guess is that none of those shots would have been taken in the first place. There are far too many instances of goals being scored because players are not in the place they're supposed to be (and know they should be).

Sooo ... I'm gonna split the baby. Those goals weren't the goalies fault, but they do need to be hung on the team as a whole.
