If Quincey can fetch a 1st rounder, then Semin and Wideman should get at least that much value. This would be a very good year to be a seller IMO. Lots of buyers, not much top talent coming on the market.

This was a good move. Downie works hard and is a gritty player (something our team has forgotten how to do). And, while our GM sits on his hands and will likely be a buyer at the deadline, Yzerman is getting top dollar for players from clubs anxious to get better for the playoffs. He understands that even if his team made the playoffs they would never get past the first round and now has 5 picks in the first two rounds of a stacked draft class… We should be shopping Wideman, Semin, and wrapping them with Eakin, Mojo, Neuvy/Holtby clearing up cap room and bringing in players that make us a better team. We NEED a 2C if we want to go anywhere… Enough ranting.
