I just remember how surprised and excited he was when we talked to him after his first professional game in Hershey last year. From what I’ve seen, he really is down to earth and a very hard-worker. Every practice I’ve gone to, he’s always been one of the last guys off the ice — with the Caps or during his time at Development Camp — and he’s always been happy to answer any and all of our questions. I can’t wait to see what type of player he is in his prime. I really think he’ll be a good one.

Great article, Igor. I love Dima’s play – feel like we see him get better with every game. Hope the Caps keep him. He has a bright future.

Likely a faux pas to comment on your own post – but nevertheless… over the last 12 months or so we managed to put a recorder in front of Dima six or seven times, and no matter where and when – Giant Center, Kettler or Verizon, after a game or after a practice – he always found time to answer all of our amateurish and silly questions. Dima is as genuine off the ice as he is on it.
