Yea the Flyers are a bit scary, but at the same time during that series everyone saw crazy goal scoring potential, and i just saw terrible defense and goaltending by both teams. I mean passes east to west 20 feet from the net in a 5 on 5? Unacceptable

I have a gripe to air. This time last year is when BB lost my respect. The fact that he brought back Varly to start the playoffs after sitting with an injury for, what, a month or two leading up to the postseason? I recall wondering why the hell they didn’t keep the kid who in 13 (?) games had 2 or 3 shutouts as backup and let Varly sit upstairs in the press box. Now I’m almost thankful Neuvy got hurt this year cause we all knew Vokoun wasn’t coming back next year, and if Holtby had to come in and save our asses after Neuvy got dominated by the B’s, we could very well be sitting in a different spot right now. This swagger and confidence all the talking heads keep bringing up has been with this kid since I first got nervous when he was called up last season, only to shake my head a few weeks later when BB sent him back down. Now granted, that probably wasn’t his time. But neither was it for Varly or Neuvy last April as evidenced by their inability to pull off what this rookie did and will continue to do this postseason.

Except it’s a Saturday, soooooo I don’t buy what you’re selling. I think our crowds will be damn rowdy enough in general, but for that game too as long as we stick it to them at some point leading up to that game.

I Like our chances now better than before the Boston Series. I think Ovi will get a ton more ice time and more space to operate, not taking anything away from Girardi but he’s not Seidenberg or Chara. If the Caps keep up this defensive style and Holtby is a beast (which duh of course he will be) I’ll take the Caps in 6!! GO CAPS!!
