Alex Ovechkin Disses “The Bettman,” KHL Changes Rules

On Tuesday, Alex Ovechkin and his sweet new buzz cut returned to Kettler Capitals IcePlex, participating in an informal workout with 10 of his other Capitals teammates. Once he was finished on the ice, Ovi met with reporters and hooooooooo-weeeeeeeee did he have some choice words for “the Bettman.” Ovi also spoke about his plans if the NHL does indeed lock out its players in eleven days.

When asked if he was giving consideration to playing in Russia, Ovechkin responded,”Of course I’m thinking about it because my hometown has teams, and my Russian federation have a league. Of course I’m probably going to be there. But I don’t want to be there, I want to be here.”

Well, Ovi, Russia wants you to be there (again).

Not All Fighters Carry Hockey Sticks

Less than two pounds. That’s what the machine read when Skylar Elizabeth made her life debut. She was just a little bit longer than a ruler. Among the many wires, machines and blue lights, there was a little baby who had a lot of fight in her.

Skylar was born without the typical fanfare of a baby’s entrance to the world. There were no bottles of champagne waiting to be opened. No outfit ready to make her look cute for the first car ride home. The hospital bag wasn’t packed and waiting by the door. Instead, frantic nurses, anesthesiologists, and doctors tried to hide their own fears. Her father didn’t see her being born, and her own mother was not conscious. Within minutes, she was airlifted in a helicopter to Children’s National Medical Center, without any of her family.
