Washington Capitals 2012 fifth-round pick Connor Carrick made his NHL debut tonight in his hometown of Chicago. And on National TV, Pierre McGuire showed him the respect and dignity he deserves. By getting his name wrong.
Ugh, Pierre. C’mon.
It’s Pierre. What do you expect? He looks like a penis.

When I lived in San Diego in the mid-80’s, Jerry Coleman was (and occasionally still is) doing color commentary for the Padres’ radio broadcasts. His propensity for mangled pronunciations and malaprops was almost on a level with Casey Stengel or Yogi Berra.
Emrick is worse than any of them. If I didn’t know better I would swear McGuire & Emrick do these things on purpose as yet another way to disrespect the Caps. Geez, even that all-Cosmos “Delta Bravo” Milbury gets the players’ names right.!
Was really hoping Pierre wouldn’t be back this year, had to watch the game on mute. Ready for Joe B. and Locker on Thursday.
