Mike Green’s New NHL 94-Inspired Game Over T-Shirt

NHL94

This game is older than me.

“It’s not what you wear, but how you wear it,” Washington Capitals defenseman Steve Oleksy said of Mike Green last month, as he talked about the team’s best dressed player. On a team with Russians in oversized sweatshorts featuring massive corporate logos, Green’s style of faux hawks and Oxfords stands out for its understated elegance.

Now, Greenie wants to bring some that swag to your pathetic wardrobe. As we noted last spring, he came out with his own clothing line, with the first run selling out in days. One of the latest additions, though, deserves special attention: Green’s very own “Game Over” shirt, a reference to the nickname coined due to his remarkable record of ending sudden-death match-ups.

On the front, the shirt features a depiction of Green straight out of NHL 94, which is, like, super awesome. The back continues with the old school Nintendo theme. Ian, a designer himself, got out his credit card in about 11 seconds.

We swear this is not an advertising supplement, but Green’s merchandise is available here.

Then you probably should get on it. They only do limited runs on their shirts.

This shirt would be perfect if it didn’t have the mikegreen52.com in the nintendo oval

“This game is older than me.” I couldn’t get past this line…

Love this – and I agree the .com plug on the back is the only downfall of this design. Getting out my credit card now…

I know. It’s supposed to be “older than I.” It bugs the shit out of me too, but I let it pass on colloquial grounds.

I mean, we expect this from Fedor, but Christopher… I never!

Is it performance material or cotton, looks soft? And also I wonder what is the web address of new Ovi’s Nike design store?

Well clearly I am just the worst.
