Towards the end of the first period and with the Washington Capitals down 3-0 to the Montreal Canadiens, Comcast SportsNet panned to the owner’s box. Ted Leonsis was was sitting there with the greatest player of all-time, Wayne Gretzky. The Great One was chatting non-stop.

So my question to you guys is: What the heck are they talking about?

Here’s Peter’s guess.

During the second intermission, Gretzky signed autographs and took photos with Caps fans.

He also somehow managed to find time to film an interview with DC101’s Elliot In The Morning.

Finally, Gretzky received a minute long standing ovation in the third period after being announced on the loud speaker by Wes Johnson. He waved graciously in acknowledgment.

Is Leonsis still on a diet? He can stop – he’s lost enough weight. Seriously.

Not only did I get his autograph, but I got to shake his hand and didn’t make a total fool of myself when I said hello to him. Was an amazing night even though we lost!

Gretzky was also a pleasure to meet and one of the nicest guys that posed for pics and made time to try and talk to everyone who came up to him. Was really cool to see.

  • He looks great. I’m really happy for him.
