chimera-slaps-ward-in-face

Let’s be honest, in a 2-1 shootout loss to the league’s worst team there are few good moments to focus on. But as the Washington Capitals came out for the third period tied with the Buffalo Sabres 1-1, CSN accidentally caught the most fun-loving of fun-lovingest moments on the Caps bench.

As Joe B. discussed responses to CSN’s #CapitalsTalk question of the night, jokester Jason Chimera shoved Joel Ward and then whacked him in the face.

Ward, feeling his personal space had become compromised, responded by putting his hip into Chimera and then an unsuspecting Marcus Johansson.

Johansson returned the favor forcefully, creating what I’d call a Caps sandwich.

The full video from Fedor is here.

So yes, the loss was terrible, but at least we have these shenanigans to smile about.

The bromance going on between Chimmer and Wardo this season has been a truly beautiful thing.

I cant decide if i am glad that the team remains what appears to be “tight” or if I should be concerned that they are not more bothered by their performances. I like to think of it as a tight fun loving team which will serve them well come playoff time. But then again I have been wrong before….

I love how in the last GIF when MoJo bumps Wardo, Chimera nods his head like he got what was coming hahaha

Chimmer doesn’t look like a 34 year old father of three. (Am I correct on number of children)

As soon as I saw this live, I knew I could count on the great folks at RMNB to do a piece on it. So good. I love these type of candid moments we catch sometimes (see: PerryCelly/AlzyCelly) that remind us that these guys are just normal people trying to enjoy their jobs and get along with their teammates. Yeah, they’re professionals doing interviews and stuff, but they also love tweeting about their teammate getting stuck in a hotel bathroom stall.

Don’t know the number of kids he has, but I know he has at least one little guy learning to play hockey at Kettler. I see him there frequently taking him to early morning practice.
