Brad Marchand is called a pest. That’s the polite way of saying he’s a miserable player of middling ability who’s mostly known for being a scuba-certified diving instructor and an insufferabe troll. He made that second part clear in Saturday’s 4-2 win over the Bruins, when Marchand attempted to emasculate Joel Ward.

Ward was skating below the goal line after a whistle. Something about this behavior must have enraged Marchand, who lifted his stick into Ward’s crotch.

Ward doubled over in pain, but there was no whistle. That should’ve been Marchand’s third penalty of the game, but oh well. Joel Ward wasn’t hurt, plus he scored the game-winning goal, so he’s probably fine with the whole thing.

Instead of targeting hits that are legal and just huge collisions, maybe the NHL should look into this bullshit…. Then again it’s illegal to suspend a bruin, even if they purposely
    Break someone’s back

I have always knew that French Canadians were up to no good. Apparently that “nut-check,” game was not left on the brutal schoolyards of 1st grade recess. Eh Anyways balls of steel always prevails 🙂

I noticed this live. Marchand is such a sorry excuse for a NHL player. He has the talent to be a valuable player but will always be held back by being an absolute clown.

What a little bitch. …it’d be nice to have him in a Caps sweater though…

  • Brackaphobia

Hate is not strong enough a word to describe my feelings for this clown.

Maybe St. Laurent can crawl inside of Marchand’s nose and they can go on holiday together…. Far away from here.

I’m also a Marchand hater but I’m pretty sure Thornton recently had a pretty long suspension..

I hate that rat as much as any other guy, but maybe it had something to do with Joels stick being in Marchands face, in the beginning of this animation?

True that boy does have a beak on him….

“Something about this behaviour must have eneaged Marchand…” at least I can see that Ward’s stick hits right in the face of Marchand. I’m not saying that Marchand isn’t a clown but maybe he had a reason to get mad in this case. Attempt to emasculate Ward is ofc wrong butI hope you get my point and can look at this situation from neutral side.

Yeah, sure he scored the GWG. But Ward didn’t get in a fight after this. Because Ward is a girlie man. That proves that fighting must stay in hockey! Yuhhuh.

    “Middling ability” el oh el

Dropping the gloves would have been a stupid move at that point in the game. I think in this case all it proves is that discretion is the better part of valor. He showed admirable restraint.

  • Ash

To be fair, Marchand’s honker is so huge, it’s kind of hard to miss.

  • Graham Dumas

Sorry, was trying to be sarcastic but didn’t do a very good job at it. But yes, I agree: fighting at that point (or really, most points) would have been a stupid move.

  • Graham Dumas

Sorry, was trying unsuccessfully to be sarcastic. But yes, I agree with you: fighting at this point (or really, at any point) would have been pretty dumb. Plus-one for restraint.

  • The Truth

To be fair, it’s kind of obvious that Ward wasn’t trying to hit hi in the face, and only pussies resort to hitting other men in the balls.

  • The Truth

Had he dropped the gloves, Marchand would’ve pissed himself out of fear. He didn’t drop the gloves for the sake of everyone on the ice.

    Someone mention me?
