crosby-hit-in-face-by-linesman

The Caps game sucks, so let’s look elsewhere for entertainment. How about Pittsburgh, where Sidney Crosby recorded an assist on Chris Kunitz‘s first-period goal against the Carolina Hurricanes. That apple gave Crosby his fifth career 100-point season. He’s a lock for the Art Ross trophy, but that’s not why we’re writing.

No. We’re writing because tonight is the night the refs finally turned on Sid. As Crosby skated into the Pens’ defensive zone, he got smacked a linesman. We’re ethically obligated to say it was unintentional, but c’mon.

Only apple on that play is the swelling on Sid’s face. (GIF via Mike Darnay of PensBurgh)

Just to calibrate real quick, head injuries: not funny. Getting smacked by a ref: definitely funny.

I wish he sucked at hockey. He’s hard to hate on when he’s putting up 130 point seasons lol. What a clown though.

    Where’s the embellishment call?

If the Capitals played in the English Premier League we would be facing relegation right now.

OK, now I get what people mean by diving, because…. WOW!

  • ATPinDC

Oh, look, Crosby not looking where he’s going–AGAIN.

  • MuzzMuzzington

OH MY GOD! IS HE OKAY? PLEASE KEEP HIM IN YOUR PRAYERS!

I didn’t know Steckel was a ref now

  • Jonathan Kenny

Crosby graduated magna cum laude from the Daniel Carcillo School of Hockey…or was it Pretty Boy Larry Sharpe’s Pro Wrestling Academy!?

  • GetchaGrubbOn

    Crosby really sold that one…instinctively

  • jim

yep, our game sucks. My guess is that Oates and GMGM will be gone. As for the ref’s hit on Sir Sid: unless it was a weird ref elbow to Sid’s head, this is an example of how Sidney instinctively goes into collapse mode when he encounters the slightest physical contact.

  • GetchaGrubbOn

    KNEES. SO. WEAK….CAN’T. HANDLE. BABYSLAP.

  • Rhino40

I don’t recall Gretzky, Orr, or even the despised Mario Lemieux doing this. This is the games “greatest player”? the stalwart guardian of Canadian Hockey Traditions? Um…how about “No”? This is just part-and-parcel of a craven, sniveling, unsportsamanlike ouvre that has included such “highlights” as:

    • As the youngest team captain in NHL history, failing to lead his team in the post-game handshake after fulfilling the dream of every Canadian boy by winning the Stanley Cup…

    • Attempting to trachea-check Henrik Lundqvist after the latter told him to stop diving and play the game.

    • Displaying an unprecedented lack of personality in all of his interactions with the media–(Which, for an NHL player, is saying something).

    • Total inability to acknowledge the efforts of a worthy adversary: if the Pens win it’s “All our guys played great”, and if they lose it’s “we didn’t execute”, but never even so much as “they played better than we did tonight”.

In short, his impressive skill set does not excuse his being a petulant, ill-tempered, spoiled brat.

And because I have respect for females, I long ago ceased referring to him as “Cindy”, since “Voldemort”, “Beelzebub”, “Mephistopheles”, and “Sid-The-Id” are all far more descriptive and appropriate.

I hereby renew my call for the music control guys at VC to play the Beatles’ “Yellow Submarine” whenever the Penguins–and Crosby in particular– benefits from a questionable penalty call.

The bell is tolling for the 2013-14 season….right…now. And you know what? I’m relieved. I was inconsolable during the Boston game despite excellent seats and good company, but I wrote it off as, OK, this is the hottest team in the Eastern Conference laying a beating on us, it happens, but if we can’t even put up a respectable fight against Dallas – as in not-playoff-caliber Dallas – then why even long for a playoff spot? So we can go down in four excruciatingly lopsided games to the Bruins in the first round? No thanks.

I watched Yzerman hoist the Cup in DC in 1998 and despite the loss was just glad to be there, bought season tickets in ’99, and have counted myself among the faithful ever since. And although this is not, by a longshot, the worst team the Caps have put on the ice in the years since – in fact, because this isn’t a bad group of guys on the ice – I find myself, like everyone else here, marveling at organizational ineptitude so profound that I am actually being driven to look forward to baseball season. And I don’t even like baseball.

So Dallas, 4-0 isn’t bad enough. Keep scoring. Please. Make this game a spectacularly loathsome goodbye to a loathsome season.

  • tauman

This video is almost as funny as the defensive sieve that is Ovechkin (-36 after tonight’s game). When the Caps are on a PP, Ovi plays for DC, but at even strength, he plays for the other team (usually by either wandering around aimlessly near anything that looks like a blue line or by coughing up the puck at just the wrong time).

  • Ash

Awww, kiddo. That was a 9.5 dive and this is a 2.5 troll comment. But if you work real hard, you might be able to troll as well as Crosby dives, someday!

Maybe if that “clown” played for you, you’d have a captain with enough heart and enough balls to actually win something…

Maybe, but he *still* plays better defense than your puff-nuts blue-line skating excuse for a captain. Also, he actually wins things…

Go home, dude. Much like Crosby in the video above, you’re not gonna draw a call.

Nope. I didn’t see Crosby in one. He kinda disappeared. That’s, you know, the joke. I can also explain how one plus one equal two, if you want.

Ovechkin also has strong playoff stats, and you’re ignorant, or just being a jerk– they’re not mutually exclusive. Fortunately, if you stick around here, continuing to be a dink, people will just keep educating you, and we’re superior in numbers. Eventually, you’ll get tired of commenting like a jerk and we’ll win. It’s a foregone conclusion. Bye.

  • CroKnows

Keep the faith brother! GMGM and a 48g -36 captain will bring you and the rest of your fan base sustainable disappointment year after year. Sorry about your division getting taken away from you.

  • ACN

Still better than being a sad-ass troll on a rival blog, dude. I just feel sorry for you. You’re a Penguins fans and this is what you do for fun? How small is your life? I’m sorry that you have to try and make other people feel bad to make yourself feel good.

Meanwhile, I’m happy because even though I know things are rough, I have an awesome blog to read that will be funny and informative about both the good times and the bad my team will face. And people like you who try to be a negative part of those posts are just a minority, and easily forgotten.

  • Paul

What a bitch. They should have given him 2 minutes for diving.

  • CroKnows

This post is about the greatest player to ever touch a hockey stick! I’m sorry your team sucks so much that you have to make fun of Sid flopping to make yourself feel better. It’s a two way street.

I’m actually pretty happy bud. Thanks for assuming though. I’m just waiting to get some lunch at work. What you up to? Having flashbacks to the good ole SE division days?

  • Lupita Repeata

I’m surprised the NHL didn’t immediately enact “The Crosby Rule” wherein any time a Linesman or Referee causes Crosby to have to whip his head back and dive a 2 minute unsportsmanlike penalty will be assessed to a random player of the opposing team.

  • Jason Smith

“Hey German dude, your guy Hitler is a real ahole!”
“Oh yeah? Well, he’s taller than your president!”
Yes, Crosby is great player and plays better defense that Ovie. And yes, he’s a diver and a cry baby. The one does not preclude the other.

  • Gary Delcourt

He is out 2 weeks with a torn labia…

  • jreeten

Really!!!!! Did you do the same for the Firefighters who have died this past week and their Families??? If this guy can’t take a hit from a Linesman, then he needs to leave the game. I nominate him for an Emmy!!!! For the terrible Acting Attempt!!!

  • ACN

Hi CroKnows! No, I’m not ignorant. Ask 100 people who follow hockey who the greatest hockey player is. I’m gonna give you a hint! 99 figures in two ways: both as the number of the player, and the number of people who’d say he was the best. The hundredth person is clearly a delusional Penguins fan.

Seriously, putting aside the fact your arguing technique is chimp-style, what with the flinging of feces and insults, Sidney Crosby is not the greatest hockey player ever. (Nor is Alex Ovechkin, just to head you off, before you go back to spewing insults about the Caps. Don’t want your feces-throwing arm to get tired.)

For God’s sake. the team you purport to cheer for is partially OWNED by a historically great player who was and remains better than Crosby. You gonna sit here with a straight face and tell me Crosby is better than: Gretzky, Lemieux, Orr, Howe, Hull, Messier, Richard, just to name a few? Really? REALLY? Because if you have an argument why, go nuts: I could use a bigger laugh than you’ve already provided.

  • Catherine__M

Cheezus, how old ARE you and have you ever heard of a man named Wayne Gretzky?
100 points for Crosby, yeah, of course, that’s an accomplishment. But Gretzky had 100 *assists* alone in as many seasons. Plus 4 200+ point seasons, and 15 100+ point seasons (almost all in a row).

  • Shmoo

“Sid-The-Id” – perfect. Highly endorsed. Also, best post I’ve seen pointing out why people hate Crosby. Could have used more nut punching during a faceoff video footage, but good post. :P

  • Lan17dry

Have you picked up a hockey stick in your life, yourself? The goalies were pylons in that era. I’d love to see Lemieux or Gretzky play in today’s game. You’re a joke. Congrats 99, you had some 200 point seasons on goalies that stood up and wore pillows on their legs.

  • ACN

I’ll keep on being right :) Because I am and you yammering on won’t ever change that. The sky is blue, the grass is green, and Sidney Crosby is not the greatest player ever. Owned and done, my man. Owned and done.

  • ACN

Heh. You just go on being wrong there, because you are and everyone who has ever just looked at a hockey stick, let alone picked one up knows it. Crosby is not the best player in the world. I’m sorry about your congenital blindness condition from birth; it must have made it very difficult to watch hockey and therefore understand this, let alone read any of the literally thousands of articles and statistics that prove it. If you want, I can wrassle you up some Braille and voice-activated websites, though?

  • RY

But he’s Canadian, so it all evens out.

  • Sean Mac

diving like a boss: not funny.

  • Sean Mac

    ok…it’s actually reallllly funny.

  • Lan17dry

Wrassle me up some Braille and voice-activated websites. Also please include your hockey playing resume.

  • Cthulu’s Alarm Clock

C’mon, man. I know you can do better than something that happened over 5 years ago. Let’s pretend this comment didn’t happen, and try again. You can if you try, I believe in you.

  • CapsKel

He’s not exactly my favorite guy either, but you’re making us all seem like sour grapes vilifying someone who scored 100 points (again) and led his team to (in all likelihood) another division win. Crosby isn’t to blame for our shitty season.

  • CapsKel

It was easier to score back then. I don’t think Crosby’s the “greatest ever,” but let’s not ignore that part.

  • CapsKel

You’re making us look bad, dude. He’s not my favorite person, but he had 31 points that playoff year. He has 105 points in 82 playoff games. There are plenty of people in our organization we should be taking our frustration out on.

  • Wes Johnson

You run a Caps blog – live in this internet troll day in age – post and promote (heyheyhey click here!!! click moar CLICKMOAR) an anti-Crosby “article”, and you act surprised people come and comment with derogatory, insensitive, and homophobic words. You’d probably face a lot less of it if you stuck to stories and reports about the audience you (God-willing, originally) intended to inform.

  • ACN

Nope, sorry. I haven’t called anyone a homophobic slur or tried to claim something patently false, unlike the commentors above. Where in any of
my posts have I said Crosby isn’t a great player or that I hated him?
I’ve said he isn’t the greatest player ever and he isn’t. Are you arguing that he is?

This is a post making fun of a very good player doing something very silly: diving when getting brushed in the face by a ref. Take it up with the actual blog itself if you have a problem with the existence of the post. So, don’t try to police me for responding to someone else who’s come in, gotten butthurt over said player getting made fun of, insulted other players and commentors, and then tried to claim Crosby is the best of all time. Nor do you get to claim how I should react or feel about the Caps in a post that isn’t even about the Caps.

  • CapsKel

No, I don’t think he’s the greatest ever. I guess my comment was directed more to this post/the comments as a collective. I think it’s full of “we’re not making the playoffs, so let’s mock Sidney Crosby!” butthurt, and it’s tacky, and I think it makes us look bad. This shouldn’t even BE a post. Do Penguins blogs devote posts to Ovi doing stupid things? If they do, they’re equally stupid. I just hate this aspect of being a Caps fan.

  • ACN

    1. Regarding Pens blogs, yes, they do. Everyone gets mocked at some point.

    2. There are at least three other posts from RMNB from the past 24 hours criticizing the Capitals and their play, and discussing what should be done. Why not bring your commenting to those and join the discussions there? I get that you’re frustrated, but this is what it is: a little bit of vented steam which involves calling out a rival player doing something dumb. If it had been Nash, Stamkos, Giroux, Malkin, or another great player, it would have also been the same.

  • CapsKel

Do they actually make posts JUST to mock Ovi, though? With no other purpose? If they do, that’s equally childish. And I’m not sure I believe that Stamkos diving would make RMNB as surely as Crosby diving does. I’m just tired of the pettiness.

  • ACN

Yes. Want me to link some? Just go to Pensblog, they’ve got a couple I definitely recall. I was just reading the one where they were making fun of one of his music videos the other day. And you know what, that’s okay! It’s okay for Caps blogs to occasionally make fun of Crosby and it’s okay for Pens blogs to occasionally make fun of Ovi.

The reason we make fun of great players is when they screw up, the schadenfreude of laughing at a rival is enjoyable. Sure, sometimes it’s a little petty. But making fun of Crosby is not and never has been the main focus of RMNB, nor other notable Caps websites. Crosby has been linked to Ovechkin for a long time, so yeah, he’s gonna turn up here on occasion. Key words being, on occasion– I think it’s a woeful and unfair characterization to use pettiness to describe one post about a rival player doing something dumb out of the dozens of posts RMNB publishes every month. Read what you want and just scroll if you think a post is going to annoy you.

  • CapsKel

Then they’re petty too. Sorry, but I think it’s a stupid, childish, needless “rivalry,” and I think posting about it (even occasionally) legitimatizes the playground squabbling. I also hate the homophobic and/or misogynistic tone that often accompanies mocking “Cindy Crosby,” though I’m not accusing you of specifically being a part of that. It all just leaves a bad taste in my mouth… Especially when some comments verge on wishing repeat concussions. Again, that’s not specifically you or this post, but it’s something that I’ve seen over the years. This isn’t the worst Crosby post I’ve seen here, but it’s another straw. If Pens blogs are just as bad with Ovi (I try to steer clear of Pens fans in general), then the hell with them too.

  • http://www.russianmachineneverbreaks.com Ian Oland

Oh this is fun. Thanks for defending us CapsKel! My opinion: as we continue to grow our audience we’re going to keep expanding on the topics we cover, including general NHL nonsense.

At this point, yes we’d cover Stamkos diving, but it’d probably be best served with a Tumble or a Tweet and not a post like we did with Crosby. That’s because our readers’ interest in Stamkos is a lot more tepid than it is with Sid.

I invite Pens Blog to make fun of Ovechkin sometimes too. In the end this is all entertainment. Just keep in mind, I pointed out that Crosby recorded his 5th 100 point season. I made sure to show some respect before poking fun at him.

  • ACN

That’s fine, and you’re welcome to your feelings on it. But, well, it’s the internet; it can’t be Serious Business all the time. There’s always going to be pettiness and making fun, whether it’s Ovechkin’s disconnected controller or Crosby flopping. And I really do think that’s okay. Part of sports– hell, part of human nature is getting to laugh at the dumb moments in it, or enjoy it when your rival screws up.

I agree with you regarding the misogyny, homophobia, and injury wishing– I would never condone those, and they should be called out. But look at the post above: it’s last line is “Just to calibrate real quick, head injuries: not funny. Getting smacked by a ref: definitely funny.” I think that’s pretty clear, isn’t it?

  • CapsKel

Honestly, I don’t think this post would bother me if Crosby mockery wasn’t frequently accompanied by misogyny, homophobia, injury-wishing, etc. It’s hard for me to go “Oh, well, this one’s tame,” when my gut reaction is “Remember that time that a Caps fan said Crosby was a…”

  • CapsKel

Like I said below, it’s less this actual post than the comments that often accompany posts like this. I don’t think you guys had any ill intent, but posts like this often lead to veiled misogyny/homophobia/injury-wishing. I’ve seen other Caps fans say so many disgusting things about Crosby that it’s hard for me not to wince at anyone opening the door to mock him. (And I’m sure Pens fans are the same with Ovi, but I don’t have to deal with Pens fans.)

  • ACN

Sure thing, dawg. Let’s start with awards.

Hart Trophies: Gretzky, 9. Crosby 1.
Art Ross Trophies: Gretzky 10, Crosby 1
Conn Smythe Trophies: Gretzky, 2. Crosby, 0
Lester B. Pearson Awards/Ted Lindsay Award: Gretzky, 5. Crosby, 2.
Goal scoring title prior to 1998/Rocket Richard post 1998-present: Gretzky, 5. Crosby 1.
    Cups: Gretzky, 4. Crosby 1
And, what the hell, Lady Byng: Gretzky, 2. Crosby, 0.

As long as we’re talking scoring titles, let’s bring up some other storied company. Bobby Hull (7), Phil Esposito (6), Charlie Conacher, Maurice Richard, Gordie Howe, Gretzky (all with 5). Lemieux, Ovechkin and Brett Hull only won it 3 times each, those slackers.

No one is saying Crosby isn’t an elite player. But it’s silly to even make this argument because there is no argument: Gretzky leads all of NHL history in goals, but, if you took away ALL of his goals, he would still lead all of NHL history in points– on assists alone. That’s what a greatest of all time looks like.

Should you like to check the stats (including stats adjustments made for history, just in case you were worried it doesn’t campre well between today and when they played against dudes with pillows on their legs), you can go here:

  • ACN

Yeah, and that sucks when it happens. Though a quick perusal of this
post doesn’t spot me a single Cindy or homophobic reference. In fact,
one of the comments above specifically calls out the usage of that and
explains why they don’t like him for other reasons, with video usage.
So…. I get being annoyed that it’s happened in the past, but it’s not
happening here, in this post. In fact, the opposite has happened. I
don’t know what to tell you other than that.

    We should
definitely call it out when we see it, but RMNB has been excellent in
the past about stressing how much commentors shouldn’t resort to that.

  • agrace

Without getting into it too much…You do realize that scoring is down by a point and a half each game, throughout the entire league. The game has changed since Gretzky played. In fact, the game has changed in just the past couple years. Different rules, different attitudes. You’ve also failed to mention any of the players that played with the afore mentioned greats. Who they’re playing with is a pretty important stat to consider when discussing how good a player is. Without a guideline, or set of standards of how you want to define what makes a great player, let alone the greatest player, how can the point even be considered or intellegently debated? Lets all argue about the best song ever too.
My unsolicited, and unimportant opinion, Crosby is a great player, and he makes his team mates better players too.

  • ACN

That’s why I made a specific point of mentioning the links that have historically adjusted stats to take that into account. In fact, I included two links to cover that. And your argument about who these players played with holds little water: for one, not all those stats are directly dependent on other players, and two, by your own logic if the game has changed, Crosby is playing with better players than were playing in the past and therefore his own accomplishments must be adjusted downward in light of that. See how illogical that is? In addition, if you truly believe that, how do you then argue against the fact Crosby has played with exceptionally strong players on his team (Malkin, for example) as well?

You are offering a weak strawman in return here, because I am (and never did in any of the comments above) in no way arguing Crosby is not a great player. I am arguing that he is not the BEST player, by offering stats to show other players, one specifically, have performed better than he has in quantifiable numbers and accomplishment, even adjusted for their different time periods while playing.

Crosby might join them in time when his career is finished, But he’s not there yet, and while your closing opinion isn’t wrong (he IS GREAT, and he DOES help his teammates), it’s certainly not the crux of the argument because no one was arguing that point. Crosby is not better than Gretzky. Crosby cannot be considered the greatest hockey player ever with what he has accomplished to this date, as impressive as it is. Full stop.

  • Lan17dry

Waiting on your playing resume… Gretzky leads all of nhl in goals/points because the goalies were sieves. Let’s put Sidney Crosby in that era. You’re a stubborn Capitals fan.

He deserves an Academy Award for his performance!

  • Cthulu’s Alarm Clock

See? Didn’t have to type as much, it’s more up to date (although not quite as up-to-date as the spanking you guys took from Carolina on the night in question, but still), and you didn’t even have to consult a dictionary (I’m assuming)!

I told you you could do it!!!

  • Cthulu’s Alarm Clock

Be nice. Only reason he’s in his mother’s basement is because he’s out of a job from the steel mill closing down (a tale told too many times), and he’s got nowhere else to go, unlike the thousands of other Pittsburgh natives who cleared out of town the first chance they got,,,

  • CroKnows

Didn’t you get shutout the same night? This is fun

  • Rhino40

Not to mention the fact that–in Stamkos’ case–glancing incidental contact usually does not cause him to react as if he had been shot with a .50 cal sniper rifle…like some people we know…

  • Rhino40

“Watching [you] in June”…you mean on the golf course after you get schooled/smoked/spanked/pwnzered by the Bruins, Rangers, or pretty much anyone from the Western Conference?

  • Cthulu’s Alarm Clock

This is true, we did get shutout by Dallas, who currently has a tentative hold on their wild card spot. Where’s Carolina in the standings again? And you scored how many goals, with the talent on your roster?

Here’s the thing, sweetheart: No one’s arguing that the Caps aren’t playing like shit. It’s downright depressing to watch games this season. But if you’re going to wander onto another teams’ fansite to troll its readers, you should probably pick a different time than right after you let a team currently pretty much in the basement of what’s arguably the weakest division in the NHL curb-stomp you with a final score of 4-1…

  • Rhino40

    CroKnows….exactly nothing…Well played ACN!

  • ACN

Heh. Sorry, bro. Stomping your feet and puckering up your adorable little face and saying “Sidney Crosby is the bestest ever because I SAY so!” doesn’t make it happen. You’ll learn that as you grow up. I’m also sorry the only thing you can come up with to counter me is:

    1. “I’ll only listen to you if you’re a player!” Newsflash: that’s got nothing to do with, you know, facts. And if it does? Those stats all up there? Provided by the NHL, and players. Since I’m kinda doubting you’re secretly an NHL player, that doesn’t matter anyway.

…unless. OH MAN, SID, HAS THIS BEEN YOU ALL ALONG?

    2. “Goalies were sieves!” Sorry you can’t read, since that was covered in the links. Even when the stats are adjusted for historical changes, Crosby comes up short against the other players mentioned. So, yeah, go ahead and put him in that era, he’s still not top of the list.

    3. “You’re a stubborn Capitals fan!” Goddamn straight I am. And you’re a troll who’s given me the opportunity to read up on a lot of interesting historical stuff in this thorough curbstomping of facts, so, thanks for that, I guess?

  • DCHomer

longtime sabres fan…dc implant…caps fans dont seem to understand why Ovi is not considered with the likes of Crosby, Toews, Tavares and never will be… just watch this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z9e5VWeKe8A …you cant teach Effort

  • DCHomer

Every owner/fan in the league would rather have Sid than Ovi unless of course your from Northern VA and you started watching hockey the year after Ovi got drafted…O btw heres some stats on the 2013- 2014 season, ya know just leading the league in points again:
    Ovi…. G 48 A 24 +/- -36 PIM 44 (sissy)
    Sid…. G 36 A 66 +/- 17 PIM 46

  • initforthehockey

this is for CapsKel, if you dislike this making fun of crosby and think that it makes Caps fans look bad, what made you come here and check this out in the first place ?

  • Tommy Ettinger

don’t know how you can say Mario Lemieux was despised? he had one of the biggest followings of all time, non the less it isn’t as much a dive as it is him accidentally skating into the ref’s arm he’d have nothing to gain from embellishing this hit it’s really not a dive

  • Tommy Ettinger

well huge Sid/penguins fan and i’m not going to be biased and call him the best of all time because I know theres plenty of other great players past and present but he’s def up there with them you can’t deny his talent, time will tell the stats he’ll have by the time he retires. As for the proclaimed dive, it’s embarrassing to see a ref smack him in the face but it seems more of an accident then a dive he’d have nothing to gain embellishing on that he obviously knew it wouldn’t be a call wrong place at the wrong time.cant wait for the playoffs

  • Tommy Ettinger

lol I’m sure a majority of your fanbase would take sid with open arms if it meant taking your team to the next level because as good as ovi is he’s not going to lead a team to the cup

  • g

oh my god bro shut up it was more of a joke than a actual statement. Stop being so sensitive. that is a completely different scenerio.

  • Jonah

its also a scientific fact that after about the age of 55 the body can’t play hockey any more. no shit those other guys aren’t in the league now! also, since when have seen crosby show up in the playoffs since the cup?
they were embarrassed by philly in the first round, he got 0 points against boston last year and was swept out in the fashion of euthanizing an injured dog. he has only one goal in the olympics this past year. crosby is an incredibly talented player surrounded by a much better supporting cast than washington has. the only difference between crosby’s and OV’s NHL success is that they were a couple of years apart in the draft. if OV had been 1st in 2005 he’d be on the pens and the golden boy of a very successful franchise. if crosby was in 2003, he would be in washington and a terrible waste of talent by a bad team.

  • Jonah

i know what you mean. i have gay and transgender fans, and they don’t like being compared to crosby!

  • Jonah

then he’d just be sean avery :)

  • Jonah

did you really bring up SOCCER???? on a HOCKEY blog????
thats almost as pathetic as well… this season

  • Jonah

all of you complaining about the pittsburgh trolls who have come in here. are you really surprised? i mean, all those bridges…

  • Dylan

Since when is dropping to a knee diving? I think you all need to take a refresher course on the many penalties and rules of the NHL.

  • youredumb

I cannot get over how pathetic this is lol

  • Jay Jackson

    Wow… grow up, bro.

  • MommaMia

Someone needs to remind Crosby that refs can be mean. Hope he does file a police report against the official. Ot was just a tap and wouldn’t knock over a bottle sitting on the edge of a table.

  • chris

you would think that he could at least make it more believable. my god. seriously!??! i just cannot believe that he takes all of us for such fools. really.

  • hawksfan81

    #TwoCupToews>OneCupCrosby

  • John

Watch the video carefully. The linesman not only hit him right in the throat but he actually grabbed his Adam’s apple. Crosby was lucky he stayed on his feet. It was deliberate. You are a jackass fool!

  • Keith Richards

His role players stole that cup from Detroit. He was on the bench hurt in game 7. Kane and Toews > Crosby and Malkin.

  • Lou Cipher

    Dumas, pronounced Dumb ass..lol

  • Evan Harrison

i think YOU need to watch the video more carefully. I’d like to know how you think its possible for the ref to “grab his adam’s apple” with his BACKHAND ya munsen

  • John

I did! I copied the video and ran it in a slow “mo ” (frame-by-frame) conversion. It is as plan as can be. BTW, my comment was a month ago. Now you want to debate the issue with me. Don’t even bother. End of issues and your still a jackass fool on this matter!
