After training and skating with future aviators last week, Alex Ovechkin decided Sunday was the right time to take a load off, attending a CSKA Moscow / Spartak Moscow soccer game at Arena Khimki in Northwestern Moscow. CSKA and Spartak are heated rivals of the Russian Premier League. Spartak won 1-0.
Ovi, a fan of the third most popular club in the city, Dynamo, tweeted a photo of himself with photographer Pavel Basharinov and deputy prime minister of Russia and Duke alum (boo.) Arkady Dvorkovich (who surprisingly is not sanctioned by the US, Canada, or any European countries).
Ovi Instagrammed the following caption: “Spartak-Cska!!Gonna be interesting but Dynamo best! with bashka72 and @advorkovich !!!” The original punctuation, spacing, and spelling was preserved through a Fedor Fedin translation for historical accuracy.
