The jewel of Brian Maclellan’s summer acquisitions, TJ Oshie, has scored his first goal as a Washington Capital. Nine minutes into Thursday’s game against the Chicago Blackhawks, Tom Wilson drew a penalty. Like he does. The Caps made the Hawks pay promptly for their sport-crime with Oshie’s tricky wrister from the slot.
Oshie was the man in the middle, a spot occupied last season by Troy Brouwer. Along the half wall, Evgeny Kuznetsov found a seam and sent the puck that-a-way. Oshie was already locked and loaded, promptly releasing a one-timer that beat Chicago goalie Scott Darling.

That was TJ Oshie’s first goal as a Cap. Many more are coming.
