The Washington Capitals’ Club Scarlet hosted Hockey ‘N Heels Tuesday night at Kettler Capitals Iceplex. This members-only event took about 200 fans through different aspects of the game from up close. Participants played broom ball with Evgeny Kuznetsov and Stan Galiev, took photobooth photos with Aaron Ness, practiced slapshots, and learned how to use a glove and blocker with Philipp Grubauer. After a busy first half, fans headed up stairs to learn more from the Caps’ coaches, equipment staff, refs, and CSN commentators Joe Beninati and Craig Laughlin.
This was my first time working the event, and I loved seeing all my fellow women out enjoying the game of hockey. See what it was like in my short video and photo collection from the night:
