Alex Ovechkin hit 699 career points last Tuesday with a three-point performance against the Florida Panthers. It would take another week for the Russian machine to join to the 700 Club, but when it happened he made it count.
After going scoreless in the three Washington Capitals games (all losses), Ovechkin returned to the scoresheet against the Carolina Hurricanes, scoring the game-tying goal for his 700th point and setting up the game-winner for his 701st.
Russian Machine Never Breaks is not associated with the Washington Capitals; Monumental Sports, the NHL, or its properties. Not even a little bit.
