“Shush! Cheering for me is beneath you.”

Caps prospect Evgeny Kuznetsov has been among the KHL’s leading scorers all season, and in Traktor Chelyabinsk’s 4-2 victory over Atlant Moscow on Saturday the 20-year-old scored one of his most beautiful goals yet.

Kuznetsov gains possession of the puck at center ice in the second period, then uses his speed to curl around Atlant players and beat goaltender Nikita Davydov stick-side. To celebrate his sixth goal and 15th point of the year, Kuznetsov puts one finger to his mouth to encourage his hometown crowd to be quiet. [Editor's note: Bring back the push-ups, Kuzya.]

Unfortunately for Kuznetsov, his day would end early in the third period. As he skated into Atlant’s zone to dig out a puck from the corner, Kuzya fell awkwardly and slammed his shoulder into the boards. After a few seconds, Kuznetsov got up and skated off the ice doubled over in pain.

Traktor Chelyabinsk’s official website gave an injury update on Kuzya after the game and it appears that his injury is not nearly as serious as it looked.

Right after this play Evgeny Kuznetsov went to hospital to undergo MRI. As a result, the Traktor forward was diagnosed with a minor injury of the subscapularis muscle. According to the doctors’ preliminary predicitions, Kuznetsov will miss only 5-7 days.

Kuznetsov has had a history of shoulder problems, with his left shoulder being surgically repaired twice. However, it appears that he was favoring his right shoulder when skating off the ice.
