This photo should win an award. The Caps wives and girlfriends gathered their babies and toddlers together to watch Game Six. The kids – Stella Alzner, Lyla Oshie, Lucca Carlson, Haley Backstrom, and a few others – were dressed in Caps attire and sat on the couch. I’m pretty sure this is the sole reason why the Caps won.
We now know how Evgeny Kuznetsov has spent part of the $6 million he’ll get from the Washington Capitals under his new two-year deal: He bought a teeny tiny jersey for his 12-week-old daughter, Ecenia.
Kuzy posted the photo to Instagram with the caption “Готовь сани летом.” Igor has your translation as “Prepare your sled in summertime.” Sounds like … good advice?

A few years ago, I was at Karl Alzner and John Carlson’s kids press conference at the Caps Convention. I remember someone asking Alzner what the weirdest thing he ever signed was. A whip, he answered, because who even has a whip.
On Tuesday night, Washington Capitals goaltender Braden Holtby had his own weird autograph moment at the Caps’ annual season-ticket holder party at Six Flags. Hotlby’s thing was cuter than Alzner’s though. Holtby signed a baby.
