Early Wednesday morning, former Capital Mike Green and his wife Courtney were celebrating the birth of their first child. Axel Rain Green was born at 5:45 AM. According to Courtney, Axel weighed 7.1 lbs and is 20.5 inches long.
The parents shared photos on social media.

On Tuesday, the Washington Capitals hosted some kind of media luncheon thing and made available literally everyone in the Caps organization. That list included owner Ted Leonsis, who dropped what I initially thought was a bombshell during his press conference.
I heard him say something about Nicklas Backstrom having a new “beautiful baby boy.”
Upon closer inspection of District Sports Page’s Katie Brown tweets, however, I learned that Backstrom did not have a new child over the summer. Leonsis was just talking about how Nicklas Backstrom refers to a new addition to the Washington Capitals.
On Wednesday night, Braden Holtby‘s father Greg announced awesome news on Twitter: Braden and his wife Brandi welcomed their second child into the world, a girl named Belle Scarlett Holtby. The B names continue!

With five minutes left to go in a successful first period, CSN panned to the crowd. Smart move. Those crowd shots have been a treasure trove lately. Today, CSN found an adorable baby wearing a Caps jersey and noise-canceling ear muffs and eating some kind of oblong-looking cracker thing.
It’s okay if you need a moment.

Over the summer, news broke in Sweden that Nicklas Backstrom‘s girlfriend would give birth to the couple’s first child. On Tuesday morning, The Washington Post’s Katie Carrera reported that the couple has welcomed a healthy baby girl, two days after her scheduled delivery date.
Everything has been going Capitals forward Troy Brouwer‘s way lately. Last month, Brouwer signed an $11 million contract extension to keep him in DC for the next three years. Then, Knuble’s Knights revealed that they would be devoting their energy towards the winger as the Brouwer Rangers. I’m sure Troy — like every other Capitals fan out there — can’t wait to see their new spandex suits.
