In his fourth game of the 2012-13 season, Caps prospect Filip Forsberg continued to show why he’s the 10th highest-rated prospect in the world, scoring in consecutive games. The 18-year-old’s goal — his second of the year — helped Leksands IF beat Almtuna IS, 3-2.

Despite being a boy in a man’s league, Forsberg’s goal is a perfect illustration of how advanced of a player he is already.

As two of his teammates jaunt towards the net, Forsberg, the trailer, hustles to catch up to the play. As he skates into some empty space in the middle of the ice, teammate Par Edblom hits Forsberg with a backhanded pass. Forsberg then rifles the puck past Almtuna goalie Joel Lassinatti to the top corner of the net.

For those keeping track at home, the 18-year-old Caps prospect is now a quarter of the way to his goal total last year of 8, with 48 games to go. If I were a betting man, methinks he will surpass the double digit mark in goals for the first time in his young career.
