What makes a good party? Drink specials, good food, and great friends.  If you throw in a sashed pageant-winner, signed Caps gear, and the lovely facilities of Front Page Arlington, you’re entering Great Party territory.  That’s RMNB’s First Year Party for you.

Here are the deets. At 6PM, the doors of our party will open to the huddled masses.  Hopefully, we’ll keep everyone properly entertained until 12:30am – or whenever Michael Jenkins shows up and saves us after SportsNite. This party is an all-ages affair, but attendees under the age of 21 will have their hands X’ed in classic D.C. tradition.

There will be no underage drinking at the party. Front Page is doing us a solid by letting us hang out, so we’re going to follow their rules.  Besides, we can’t have people thinking our readers are a bunch of loudmouthed buffons.  That’s our reputation, and we’ve worked too hard to let you usurp it.

Front Page is gracious enough to let us occupy the Back Bar and the Atrium as well. Let’s show them the proper respect for allowing us to run our victory lap in their fine establishment.  Would have been a lot more fun if we had a Stanley Cup with us…

How about the food? The Front Page has created a special burger just for the party. For $9.99, you will be able to eat the Ovie Burger, which I can only assume will include Russian Dressing, 8 pickles & a spicy dipping sauce made from the tears of Max Talbot. If you’re saving your hard-earned money for the raffle, the Front Page will also be offering Happy Hour specials until 8pm. Check it out:

RMNB's First Year Party Featuring Samantha Casey

On Saturday, July 31st, please join Russian Machine Never Breaks and current Miss Virginia USA, Samantha Casey, at The Front Page Arlington, where we’ll be celebrating our first year as a blog and Sam’s 3rd-place finish at Donald Trump’s Miss USA pageant.

We’ll be giving away a bunch of free RMNB stuff (wait until you see the keychains and koozies!), and we’ll be having a special raffle to benefit Samantha’s charity Love146. So far I’ve gathered a bunch of shirts to give away, a Mathieu Perreault-signed puck and a few team photos of the Bears celebrating with the Calder Cup signed by your boy, Andrew Gordon.  Much more to come!

As the date approaches, we’ll announce more details and some special guests. The  dress code is pretty simple: Either wear one of these or whatever you think is appropriate hanging-out-with-a-model attire.

For now, all that we ask is that you RSVP on our Facebook Page and help spread the word. We can’t wait to meet you guys and girls, talk Caps hockey, and finally meet Neil in person. It’s gonna be a blast. Mmm… beer.

After making it into the Top 10, Miss Virginia Samantha Casey talks not about her humanitarian work, but HOCKEY!

It’s bittersweet, but we congratulate Miss Virginia USA and renowned Caps fan, Samantha Casey, for winning 2nd runner up in the Miss USA pageant tonight.  Samantha had all the beauty, intelligence, and poise one expects from a champion.  We Caps fans consider ourselves lucky to count her in our ranks.

(In the not-at-all unlikely case that Miss USA cannot perform her duties, the first runner up takes the crown, and Samantha will advance to Vice Miss USA.  And then comes coup d’état.)

Caps fans, please voice your congratulations for Sam in the comments below.  Let her know how proud we are of her.  While you’re at it, check out Love 146, the group Samantha helps to raise awareness for child sex trafficking.

And if you know of any other Caps fans are doing incredible stuff, like winning a Nobel prize or winning the Tour de France, let us know.  We’re here to support the fan community, and also we’re desperate for content.

RMNB Endorses Miss Virginia In Her Quest For Trump’s Crown

Sunday night, we hope that all of you will join us in watching the Miss USA pageant live on NBC at 7pm and root hard for friend of the blog & ravenous Caps supporter, Samantha Casey. (Yes, we’ll be tweeting during it and yes, at times it should be hilarious, such as the confounding panel of celebrity judges which contains the likes of Paula Deen, Carmello Anthony and Johnny Weir. Well, at least my mom digs 2 of those 3.)

So which lovely lady will you be trying to pick out on the Las Vegas stage? Umm, this one:

If you read our interview with Miss Virginia USA, Samantha Casey, last week, you were made aware that the beautiful blonde was sharing the May Cover of Northern Virginia Magazine with Capitals superstuds Mike Green and Nicklas Backstrom. Well, said cover has finally been released to the public via Northern Virginia Magazine’s Facebook Fan Page and we thought everybody should check it out. What do you guys think?

Rejoice! Samantha Casey, Miss Virginia USA, is a Big Caps Fan.

Samantha Casey, Miss Virginia USA. RMNB Interviews the Capitals Most Beautiful Fan.

While you’re Rocking the Red at the Verizon Center during this playoff season, you might accidentally run into such esteemed ticket-holders as David Gregory from NBC’s Meet The Press, Pat Sajak from The Wheel of Fortune or even Redskins’ TE Chris Cooley. But RMNB thinks there’s one more famous Caps Fan you should now keep your eyes on the lookout for. Her name is Samantha Casey.

A 21 year old Business Administration major at the College of William & Mary, Casey is a bit of a multi-tasker. Not only is she heavily consumed with getting her degree – which has a concentration on Marketing and Entrepreneurship, Samantha also manages to promote student diversity at the campus through a multicultural organization called ColorBlind, co-founded the development of the Student Chamber of Commerce & has tried to increase awareness about child-sex trafficking through promotional activities for Love146, a non-profit dedicated to prevent international child sex slavery and exploitation.

But really, that’s only the beginning.

Samantha Casey is also the current Miss Virginia USA, and will be competing in Donald Trump’s Miss USA 2010 pageant LIVE in Las Vegas on Sunday, May 16th on NBC at 7 pm (please support her on Facebook here). Along with her title, there are certain duties she must perform as well such as doing autograph signings, answering fan mail, doing magazine cover photo shoots & oh yeah, a reality TV Show (the first couple episodes of which are up here).

The crazy part is that Samantha does all of this while still maintaining a 3.7 grade point average at one of the most demanding colleges in the nation. But what has us in love with the stunningly beautiful Casey is not her schedule, but the fact that she manages to squeeze Caps games and practices into it while living an hour and a half away in Jeffersonton, Virginia. We dig the dedication!

Recently after befriending the blonde-hair, green-eyed beauty queen from the Virginia heartland, we asked if we could do a Q/A with her so that Caps fans could get to know her better and also learn more about her upcoming May Cover of Northern Virginia Magazine with Mike Green and Nicklas Backstrom – which has recently been profiled on Capitals Red Line. Thankfully, she agreed.
