Evgeny Kuznetsov is now officially a married man. The 19 year-old Caps prospect got hitched today to Anastasia Zinov’yeva, his girlfriend for less than a year, in a small, quaint ceremony at Trakor’s 7,500 seat arena. Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin was even in attendance, flying from Moscow to Chelyabinsk to make a wedding banquet held later in the day at Beryozka. Below the fold, RMNB’s Fedor Fedin translates the account of KP.ru reporter Alexey Mikushin, while we also share cute photos and video from the day that was.

Zhenya behind the wheel of a new ivory Porsche Cayenne. Nastia wearing the wedding dress. He in the designer shirt, wide satin blue ribbon belt, with the cufflinks and bow tie of the same color. He has the looks of someone ready to go to Hollywood and be the star of some romantic movie. Anastasia’s dress has a train. She wears bracelets and a cross on a chain some experts priced at about $10,000.

“Evgeny, the bride should go on the left side, and you should be on the right.” — the registrar gives the newlyweds a hint.

“Well, I’m doing it for the first time, so I don’t know all these things — and, I’m sure, this is the last time,” Kuznetsov says as he takes Nastia under her arms and stares into her eyes. “I only came to the Traktor arena for the practices and games. This time for a wedding. I’m not used to it.”

And, by the way, Evgeny and Nastia are pioneers — they’re the only ones so far who have registered their marriage in the Traktor arena. Registry offices can’t handle all the newlyweds. In fact, there are 30 to 40 ceremonies going on so the government decided to widen the county lines. Now there is one alternative place to get wed in each district — Young Watcher’s Theatre, Dramatic Theatre, Opera and Ballet Theatre.

Before signing the registration, Evgeny said that he didn’t want any hullabaloo surrounding his marriage ceremony. Yet there may have been more journalists than relatives in attendance.

The signature is entered into the registration book, the rings are exchanged, and the marriage certificate is handed out. Zhenya wipes his lips after kisses time after time and laughs:

“I’m going to eat all of your lipstick.”

The couple decides not to go on a sightseeing tour they had planned. Instead, they go out to the hotel complex on Smolino Lake right away, together with 120 guests.

Who needs a chruch when you can get married in your home arena which seats 7,500 people?

After winning gold in Buffalo and putting up one of the best years ever recorded as a 18-year-old in Russia, Evgeny Kuznetsov continued his memorable year, proposing to his girlfriend of five months, Nastia, in early March.

Well, turns out that wedding is still totally on and will happen tomorrow at a modest church in Chelyabinsk Traktor arena, just a few days after news broke that Kuznetsov renegotiated his deal with Traktor and will stay in Russia for the 2011-12 season.

For those of you who were hoping to shower the young couple with cupcakes and wedding presents at Development Camp, Caps PR man Sergey Kocharov told The Washington Times that Kuznetsov will not be participating this year.

Below, via kp.ru, Kuznetsov talks about the wedding, his recent shoulder surgery and his new contract. RMNB’s Fedor Fedin has your translation.

Right after his return from a triumphant WJC for team Russia, Traktor’s top scorer, Evgeny Kuznetsov, told a correspondent of KP.ru that he was planning to marry his fiancee Nastia. The sportsman even revealed the date: June 3rd. At that point, however, he hadn’t decided where to have the wedding or have his honeymoon.

The date hasn’t changed since then, while he chose an original place — the Bears’ home rink — Traktor Ice Arena to have the wedding. Management of the arena offers Chelyabinsk inhabitants a new feature: registration and celebrations right in the hockey mecca of Chelyabinsk. The 19-year-old Traktor forward Evgeny Kuznetsov will become a pioneer in that.

“To be honest, I don’t want to make a big show of my wedding. It’s a very personal thing,” Kuznetsov said. “All who were invited know the place and time. It’s very nerve-racking and a big hullabaloo isn’t going to make it any better.”

Evgeny also said that his rehab after having shoulder surgery in Germany has been more than successful and he feels great. Also, on May 31st Evgeny signed a new deal with Traktor. Despite the fact his last contract hasn’t expired yet, the club’s management decided to accomodate him and revise its terms to better ones. His new deal expires at the end of the next season.

As we already reported, Evgeny Kuznetsov was given the keys for an apartment from the Chelaybinsk Regional governor after the recent WJC win. So, there’re no housing problems for the newlyweds.

If you’ll pardon our blatant rumor mongering, Evgeny Kuznetsov’s wedding is very much worth talking about. By June 3rd, Kuznetsov will only be 19-years old. While this may seem a little ‘Old World’ — the two are tying the knot after dating for just five months — there are no reports suggesting that a prenuptial agreement includes Nastia’s prospective price in goats and fine linens. Dowry jokes aside, this expedited courtship could have practical ramifications stateside.

Given his recent ambivalence in interviews about playing in the NHL after, at least another season with Traktor, the early wedding could indicate the couple plans to move to Washington as early as the 2012-13 season. Leagally, a pre-departure wedding would insure a much smoother transition should Nastia want to accompany Kuzetsov to the states. And taking into account the comparisons other Russian Caps have made between Russian and American women, maybe Kuzya’s just planning ahead.

Nastia – Last summer we started… but we have noticed each other before that.
Evgeny – It was awhile ago. We kind of started looking at each other…

AM – So, how long have you been together?
E – Well, we have been seeing each other for…
N – Seeing each other for five months. We have lived together for four months.

AM – Have you set the wedding date yet?
E – June 3rd.

AM – And have you decided on your honeymoon?
N – We haven’t decided yet.
E – There are various options. Still thinking.

AM – What about the style for decorating your new apartment?
E – I don’t know… I think the simpler the better.
N – So everything would be cozy and comfortable.

AM – So who is going to be the designer?
E – The one to the right of me.

AM – And when is the housewarming party?
E – As soon as we finish everything.
