Troy Brouwer Scores Two Goals Against Predators, Hits Career High

Ian Oland is a very stupid person. In the midst of Troy Brouwer’s poor start, Ian bet that the winger wouldn’t hit 20 goals this season. Because he lost, Ian had to dress up as a Brouwer Ranger during Saturday’s game. Since the beginning of February, however, Brouwer has 13 goals. He scored two against Nashville on Sunday, hitting a career high. With 23 goals, Brouwer is having his best season ever.

Brouwer’s first goal got the scoring started against the Preds. After stealing the puck on the forecheck, Nicklas Backstrom headed into the far corner. He then fed it to Mike Green, who made a one-touch pass to Brouwer. Troy unleashed a one-timer into the wide open net.

Brouwer’s next goal came from his familiar spot in the diamond position of the power play. After Marcus Johansson’s centering pass hit Mike Fisher in front, Brouwer backhanded the puck past Carter Hutton to tie the game. It was Brouwer’s 12th goal on the man advantage this season.
