#PARTYZORD: The Brouwer Rangers / RMNB ‘Legends of Ice Dancing’ Tour de Pouwer (to support Friends of Fort Dupont Ice Arena)™ will be held this Saturday from 10 am to noon, and it’s stacking up to be pretty epic. You should RSVP to it and stuff. In addition to 2 hours of open skating time at Fort Dupont, we’re offering a mouthwatering bake sale menu and will be raffling off more than $550 in prizes (more on both later this week), all to raise money for one of the Capitals organization’s favorite nonprofits promoting hockey and other ice-based sporting activities in the community.
As if you needed more reason to attend, we’re also super excited to announce some special guests who will be partying with us.
Can you guess who it is? Go ahead, guess! (No cheating by looking at the headline of this article.)
Okay, we’ll give you a hint: It’s a safe bet he’ll be a better skater than anyone else there.
Nope, not Brian Boitano.
Here’s another hint: He recently had a career year.
Nope, not Matthew McConaughey.
He has a beef to settle with Ian.
Nope, not Steve Ells.
Give up yet?
IT’S TROY BROUWER, Y’ALL! AND CARMEN! As in these two:
Troy, as you may recall, made a fool out of Ian this past season.
@brouwerrangers If he scores 20 goals this year, I’ll wear spandex with you guys at the final reg season game.

After Ian foolishly bet us that Brouwer wouldn’t score 20 goals, Brouwer proceeded to score 25, setting a career high for a single season and surpassing 100 all-time career goals in the process.

So we got him balloons.
Today, @md_dc took two of possibly the greatest photos ever taken. Here’s the first one. pic.twitter.com/TRsIYRsW8L

You know what happened next. (If you don’t know, take a second to catch up on the Ian Oland Apology Tour here and here.)
Troy and Carmen will both be on hand at #PARTYZORD to rub some final salt in the wound (or maybe drop some ice water on said wound) and, we hope, finally bury the hatchet.
The Brouwers, who you’ll remember matched our (your) donation to Fort Dupont last summer, will hang out, sign some autographs, take a few pictures, maybe even jump onto the ice with us, and generally have a grand old time as long as they can get to the wedding they need to get to that night on time. We’ll be sure to sneak Troy’s favorite song onto the playlist.
You’re not going to want to miss this!
