Troy Brouwer was forced to leave the game in the second period briefly after absorbing a vicious slash to the right hand from Columbus Blue Jackets defenseman David Savard.

As Brouwer looked to hit Alex Wennberg into the boards, he got preemptively slashed and it looks like it hurt like hell.
Brouwer, writhing in pain, immediately threw off his glove and skated to the bench. Comcast Sportsnet cameras zoomed into Brouwer’s hand, which was shaking uncontrollably because of the pain. A minute later, Brouwer went to the locker room.
After missing a shift, Brouwer returned and Craig Laughlin guessed Brouwer would be missing part of his finger later.
“You get a big blood blister and [your finger] just pounds,” the former Capital explained to Joe Beninati. “Then you just lose the nail.”
Aw, man. Gross. I hope not.
