Frederick county/NBC 4 meteorologist Amelia Segal has her latest Winter Classic forecast for us… and is that…? It is!
She’s wearing a Caps jersey!
And now the weather. We’re talking about the Winter Classic and weather here. Amelia says that on game day it will be sunny with temperatures falling in the upper 30’s to low 40’s. Though with the wind, it’ll feel about 10 degrees colder.
Caps owner Ted Leonsis also has some advice:
I do want to warn people; it will be cold. The river generates high winds near Nationals Park, even though it was in the 40’s, it felt MUCH colder. Please trust me on this one. Bundle up, wear gloves and a hat! It will be in the 30’s and sunny, but the sun sets behind the stadium and it will feel much colder than you expect. I feel like a dad when I say, dress warmly, wear several layers. The park will open at 11am, the game will end at after 4pm and the sun will be setting. It will be cold. Fair warning!
So it looks like we have a beautiful day on our hands. Just make sure to bundle up. I can’t wait to see Ovi’s eyeblack.
