Swedish airbrush artist David Gunnarsson just released imagery of Braden Holtby‘s new lid for the 2015-16 season and it’s indeed the white, starry mask we pointed out a few weeks ago.
The white bucket features the Caps original logo on both sides of the cage and the number 70 on the chin. If you look closely, you’ll also notice weagle logos overtop the red paint near the opening of the mask. I dig it.
On Instagram, Gunnarsson said of the mask:
Holtby’s new Caps mask is here…⭐️ I am very happy to unleash Braden Holtby’s latest Washington Capitals mask artwork⭐️. Braden and I have been working together for many years and it is always such a great pleasure to create Braden’s new mask designs. Love to be your mask artist Braden.😀 This new creation follows in the same lines as his previous designs with the old school touch, all based on the awesome Capitals logos. The white base of the mask makes it very clear and even more old school. 🎨
The design is created in a new way in a mix of old school vintage effects mixed with top modern 3D effects. I love the challenge to come up with new ideas every day of the year. Every new mask is totally unique.
The closer you come to the mask the more details you will discover🔎, and when you are really close the mask transforms into a storyteller design.📚 The design is created with all the DAVEART Trademark Super FX💎. Thank you all for your interest.❤️ @washingtoncaps @nhl #HoltBeast #holtby #daveartthecradleofcreativity #daveart #nhl @davidofdaveart
