Tuesday night, a third of the Caps roster traveled up to Boston for the team’s second preseason game in consecutive nights. Despite a third period goal from Nate Schmidt, the Caps lost 2-1 due to a David Pastrňák one-timer 12 seconds into overtime.
Meanwhile, Tom Wilson – a night after scoring the game-winning goal against Carolina – was back at Verizon Center, but this time to see tiny tattooed pop singer, Ed Sheeran, in concert.
It looks like his crew had fun.
Also in attendance was Caps first-line center Nicklas Backstrom along with his Swedish personal trainer, Andreas Öhgren.
Now we all know that on Monday, Sheeran rocked a Nationals jersey, while taking batting practice at Nats Park. That’s cool and all, but will he wear this customized Caps sweater that the Verizon Center Instagram revealed today?
Come on, Ed. Do the right thing.
09/23 Update: Ed did the right thing.
Great time meeting @edsheeran last night and getting him in the right colors for his stay here in DC @verizoncenterpr pic.twitter.com/rUn1oiAzQO
