Tom Wilson and Michael Latta Were Rooting Hard for Leonardo DiCaprio During the Oscars

On Sunday night, 41-year-old Leonardo DiCaprio finally won his first Academy Award, winning Best Actor for The Revenant. To date, DiCaprio has won over 40 awards and has been nominated six times for an Oscar, but he had never won Best Actor until last night.

During his acceptance speech, DiCaprio thanked his fellow nominees, the cast and crew of The Revenant, and Martin Scorcese. He also talked about climate change. Two crucial people he forgot to thank: Caps roomies Tom Wilson and Michael Latta.

For reasons, I don’t entirely understand Latta and Wilson were losing their minds tweeting support for DiCaprio throughout the night.

After DiCaprio won Best Actor, Tom published this tweet.

I’m guessing this bit has something to do with the roommates’ love, or well, just Tom’s love for the movie Titanic.

“It’s a classic,” Wilson said earlier in the season to RMNB. “If I told you that was the first time I’ve seen it that would cause bigger problems. It’s a great love story.”

Wilson must have geeked out when he saw DiCaprio reunite with his love interest in Titanic, Rose (Kate Winslet).

This was probably Tom’s reaction at home, too.
