Brooks Orpik Loses a Tooth After High Stick, Doesn’t Miss a Shift

He looks like Ovi now.

Brooks Orpik took two penalties in the first period of game, drawing the ire of some fans for his infractions. The Caps killed those penalties ably, and then Orpik redeemed himself in the third by drawing a double minor.

And all it cost him is a tooth.

That’s the stick of Sam Gagner hitting the Caps’ sole surving Brooks right in the kisser.

When he hit the bench, Orpik held a towel to his mouth and ripped out the remaining bits of his tooth. Oral surgery is imminent.

He didn’t miss a shift.

The Caps did not score on the super-sized power play.
