Andre Burakovsky Scores Opening Goal, Verizon Center Goes Wild

The Caps withstood an early flurry by the Penguins and then took control of the first period of Game One. The scoreboard reflected the momentum when Andre Burakovsky scored his first goal of the playoffs, knocking in Jason Chimera’s rebound with a strong net drive.

On the rush Burkie mad a pass to Chimera in the slot, easily stopped by Matt Murray, but Burakovsky was heading fast toward the goal mouth.

One touch.

I love the celly.

Burakovsky scored two goals in the 2015 playoffs but went pointless in the first round of 2016. He now skates on the third line.

The Caps lead the Pens 1-0.
