Alex Ovechkin Scores On Impossibly Fast Shot

Coming into tonight’s game, Alex Ovechkin had been held goalless for the last five playoff games. According to CSN’s Rob Carlin, Ovechkin had not gone more than six games all season without scoring.

I can report that streak remains intact.

Mid-way through the third period, the Russian machine unleashed a sniper shot near the Ovi spot. Looking more like a bullet, the goal went in and out of the net in about a second.

Still down 3-1, Ovechkin raised his hands, but did not do his customary glove/kiss celebration after the goal.

That was Ovechkin’s fourth goal of the postseason and the first in the Penguins series.
