Here’s a first look at Braden Holtby’s new mask for the World Cup of Hockey

Tuesday afternoon, the Capitals released photos of Braden Holtby’s bucket for the World Cup of Hockey. The mask, which was designed by Swedish airbrush artist David Gunnarsson, features Team Canada’s Maple Leaf logo painted boldly across the front.

If you look really close, the Capitals’ Weagle logo is elegantly overlaid on the side in red. Holtby also had the names of his two children, Benjamin and Belle, painted on the back plate, along with the flags of Saskatchewan and Alberta. Holtby’s hometown of Lloydminster has the unusual geographic distinction of straddling the provincial border between the two territories.
