If you just can’t wait until the Capitals start their training camp Sept. 23 to get your fix of brobeans and cinnamon rolls, you’re in luck. Five Caps players will man the grill in a promotion for the new Nando’s Peri-Peri opening near Kettler Capitals Iceplex in Ballston on Saturday.
Andre Burakovsky, Lars Eller, Stan Galiev, Nate Schmidt, and Tom Wilson will appear at the new restaurant between noon and 7 p.m. Saturday, along with Capitals alumnus Paul Mulvey, Red Rockers, Caps public address announcer Wes Johnson, Elliot Segal, and Craig and Courtney Laughlin.
100 percent of the proceeds from opening day – which runs from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. at 4401 Wilson Blvd, Arlington – will go to the Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation, according to a release that also gave us the glorious promotional photo above. It features the luckiest Nando’s cook in the entire world basking in the glow of Nate Schmidt’s smile.

But Schmidt appearing with Wilson and Burakovsky raises an important question: will he be the next brobean now that Michael Latta’s on his way to Los Angeles?
