Outscored 7-2 in their last two games against bottom-dwelling teams, the Washington Capitals’ play of late was becoming panic inducing. But Wednesday night, the Capitals erased all fears after they exploded for 7 goals against rival Pittsburgh.

Let’s relive them all.

1-0 Caps – TJ Oshie goal (1)

After Beags races in alone, Osh cleans up the mess shorthanded. Tito Julius Oshie!

2-0 Caps – Nicklas Backstrom goal (1)

With 2:30 left in the first, Backstrom wrists a shot past Matt Murray.

3-0 Caps – TJ Oshie goal (2)

After Evgeni Malkin knocks Matt Murray out of the game with a friendly fire high stick, TJ Oshie scores his second goal of the game with 7.9 seconds left in the first period. The tally came on the power play. Tanisawa Josafat Oshie!

4-0 Caps – Dmitry Orlov goal

Orlov scoarlovs after a sweet backhanded pass by Marcus Johansson.

5-0 Caps – Justin Williams goal

Stick scores on the five-on-three power play after a fantastic centering pass by TJ Oshie.

6-0 Caps – Alex Ovechkin goal

Ovi scores his eighth goal of the season on a breakaway. Touchdown, Washington!

7-1 Caps – Nicklas Backstrom goal (2)

After Phil Kessel scores and breaks Braden Holtby’s shutout bid, Nicky pots his second tally of the evening. And the extra point is good!

In the end, Nicklas Backstrom led the Caps with five points while TJ Oshie posted four. What a game.
