Tuesday after practice, Capitals forward Tom Wilson gave a master class on a subject he’s very familiar with: violently punching faces.
Professor Wilson’s student for the day was rookie Zach Sanford.

Wilson showed Sanford how to protect himself from uppercuts, how to properly hold onto another player’s collar, and how to properly keep your dominant face-punching hand free.

Assistant Coach Lane Lambert stood by and looked on as if this is a normal thing adults do.
In the past, Wilson has trained Andre Burakovsky in combat, while Michael Latta has showed Marcus Johansson the ropes.
This is smart. You never know when a royal rumble will break out during a game. Just ask The Burracuda.
