The Caps have been hurting for goals of late, so on Monday night they went to the well. They went to the guys you go to when you want a goal. They went to those ol’ reliable goal scorers we all know from days of old.
They went to Brooks Orpik and Jay Beagle.

Daniel Winnik, from the blue line, activates Orpik, who travels as far as his shock collar will allow, just north of the faceoff circles. There he sends a picture perfect pass to Beagle, whose stick is positioned perfectly also.
Unbelievable, but also completely believable. Where were you when grit came back? Tell your grandkids you were on the internet like a yutz.
Jay Beagle has five goals and is on pace for 17 goals this season. And he got power play time tonight. Seriously.
