Andre Burakovsky had an eventful first period. The 21-year-old forward extended his point streak to six games after assisting on Dmitry Orlov’s power-play goal. He also may have lost part of a tooth.
Late in the period, a forechecking Burakovsky tried to take the puck to the net. Instead Noah Hanifin tripped Burakovsky and high-sticked the former Swedish teen model as he fell to the ice.
Burakovsky was a bloody mess.
Here’s the play in question. Ouch.
Burakovsky returned to the bench and yelled at the official.
It appears he lost part of one of his teeth on the bottom row. See the bottom right.
Burakovsky gave a bloody gaw to the trainer that may have even included part of his tooth.
Don’t worry, Andre! You’re still handsome. You just went from beautiful to hockey beautiful. And if you put that tooth fragment under your pillow tonight, you’ll get a dollar from the tooth fairy.
8:50 Update: During a second intermission interview with Al Koken, Burakovsky said his chiklets were fine.
“It worked out pretty good,” Burakovsky said. “Just two cuts in the lip but other than that it’s pretty good.”
