Alex Ovechkin and Sidney Crosby will play on the same line during the 2017 All-Star Game

Whelp. This is a thing that’s really going to happen.

Sidney Crosby is going to center his new BFF, Alex Ovechkin, during the All-Star Game. Pierre McGuire broke the news while speaking to Crosby in the locker room before all-star introductions.

“I’m excited,” Crosby said. “We’ve played a lot of games over the years against one another. He’s scored a lot of goals against us. It’d be nice to pass it to him today and set him up for a couple.”

Metropolitan Division Head Coach Wayne Gretzky said yesterday, he’d leave the decision up to the two superstars.

“I’ll talk to them,” Gretzky said Saturday. “Whatever they’re happy with and comfortable with, we’ll do.”

And apparently this is what they decided.

#CrosvechkinForever.
